Day 2 Relativity

Page history last edited by Kelly Rick 8 years, 9 months ago

Objective:

To investigate Einstein's theory of relativity and how it affects gravity.

Task 1:

Go to the page: Einstein's Theory of Relativity

Answer the questions and load answer into the  ebackpack folder

Task 2:

Watch the following video: http://www.pbslearningmedia.org/resource/phy03.sci.phys.energy.sprelativity/einsteins-special-theory-of-relativity/

Answer the following Questions:

1. Both jugglers see the clubs moving at the same speed. Why is this possible if one of them is moving and the other is standing still?

2. Why can't the two observers agree on when the lightning bolts hit the poles? (Consider the relationship between distance, time, and speed.)

3. Consider the implication that to an observer, the car would shrink to 44 percent of its length. How does this relate to both jugglers seeing the clubs moving at the same time?
