  1. For Rod's first stunt, he decides to ride his moped off of a 15 m tall cliff and land on a mattress below. If the cliff is perfectly level, and Rod is moving at 3 m/s when he flies off, how far from the bottom of the cliff should Rod position his mattress so that he doesn't die? (5.25 m)
  2. Assuming you answered the first question correctly and Rod isn't dead, he decides to set up a new stunt. He places a ramp on the edge of the cliff and decides to ride off of that. The ramp make his total height 16 m and gives him an initial horizontal velocity of 4 m/s and an initial vertical velocity of 5 m/s. How far from the bottom of the cliff should Rod position his mattress so that he doesn't die? (9.6 m)
  3. OK, so you've made it this far an Rod is still alive. Good job. While performing his second stunt, Rod's ramp breaks. This means that he can't use it for his third stunt. An assistant places Rod's mattress, 10 m from the base of the 15 m tall cliff. Without a ramp, how fast will Rod have to travel to launch himself off of the cliff and hit the mattress? (5.7 m/s)
  4. Still alive huh? Well then, Rod decides to place his ramp on flat ground and use it to jump through a ring of fire. The ramp allows rod to have an initial vertical velocity of 6 m/s and an initial horizontal velocity of 4 m/s. The ring of fire is 1.5 m above the ground. How far away from the ramp should Rod place the ring so that he goes through it on the way down? How far away should he place the ring so that he goes through it on the way up? (3.5 m, 1.2 m)
  5. If you've made it this far, you truly are a physics stuntman. Rod decides to put his ramp on the edge of the cliff and use it to jump his moped and grab onto a helicopter landing tread at the maximum height of his jump. If the cliff plus the ramp is 16 m tall, the ramp allows him to have an initial horizontal velocity of 4 m/s and an initial vertical velocity of 5 m/s, how high above the ground at the bottom of the cliff should the helicopter hover? How far from the edge of the cliff should the helicopter hover? (17.28 m, 2.04 m)
